I have just bought a new bike with Deore 2010 cranks which seem to have a large q factor (178)and like something a bit narrower and lighter, would keep them if they were a bit narrower any suggestions?
My thoughts so far:
Middleburn duo, worry about ring flex on the big ring
FSA quite expensive but can find deals, 169 q factor
xtr meant to have lower q factor but super expensive and not sure I really need that good!
Raceface 170 q factor like them and can find good deals but have had bad experiences with newer raceface stuff, pre 1998 would swear by them now more at them...but might be better now.
Or get an old set of XTR octalink cranks and new rings and BB but might run into clearance and finding bits problems (and external bb's are easier to change), was thinking of running a 28 inner and a 40 outer in the middle position

Any thoughts on this most welcome
Thanks

I've been running RF Deus on two bikes for 2-3 years without any issues. Read the instructions when fitting and away you go. I bought both my sets second hand for about £120 each (barely used). BB's wear, but then don't they all (fitted acros ceramic 18 months ago and a hope on the other 5 months ago)
