Taking the scenic ride home on the new commuter, going along one of the short road sections when a car overtook me, slammed on the anchors and cut me up so they could park on the verge.
Turns out my squidgy V brakes are in fact strong enough to lock the back wheel, so I fishtailed around on the wet road shouting "you bloody idiot!"
Handily my skid finished just past the rear end of the car, and the drivers window had been wound down so she had heard me. "What?" she asked innocently as she got out the car to be confonted by a red faced MAMIL on the verge of a coronary.
"What were you thinking, cutting me up like that?" - I was so angry and shocked I couldn't even swear at her.
"Oh" as it dawned on her "Sorry". Realising I wasn't going to get very far, I rode of, just as the guy in the car behind me started yelling at her "So why the f did you overtake him then?"
As he overtook me just up the road he gave me a cheery wave and shouted encouragement, so not all drivers are completely senseless, selfish ignorant morons after all!
Just off to have a wee dram now to get over the shock and start a weeks holiday. Yay!
