Excuse the poor homage to Ugly Duckling but trying to isolate a creak on my ti singlespeed road bike. I don’t think it’s any welds failing but this would surprise me. Axles are tight, bb is recent. Happens whilst stood up or seated but only whilst pedalling.
Not exactly many things to check but happy to hear any ideas

Grease rear axle....
Don't rule out headset bearings or stem

I had that on my Van Nice Zephyr. Like Matt says, grease rear axle.

Pedals would be my guess.

Ha, that subject line was doing my head in, glad you identified who it was!

My singlespeed creaked because I had over-tightened the crown mounted brake hanger, had obviously deformed the crown a tiny bit and caused a weld to separate or something.

Anyway, have you fitted a crown mounted brake hanger?

Could be chainring bolts. Strip, clean, regrease and refit. Or just tighten them upon situ for a quick bodge.

What saddle are you using? Fabric appear to creak constantly, come perch but noisy.

akkwlsk

Pedals would be my guess.

as ever could be a lot of things but for time it takes I'd swop out pedals - twice had a creak then a pedal bearing fall apart - thought would feel it but no

The last time I had a creak in my road sinflespeed it turned out to be a cracked LH crank (Sugino Messenger). When it broke I fell off, which hurt.

I replaced that crank with another, after checking the RH crank for damage. Months later the RH went without warning, and I fell over the bars again. That hurt even more.

Plenty to be going on with then. The basic gist from all the replies is to grease and tighten every bolt on the bike 😄

Metal bars in a carbon stem
Will swap pedals for a spare set.
Had no idea there’d be other UD fans 👍

Chainring bolts tight?

Chainring bolt would be my first choice. BB would’ve another. My fixed wheel is stealthy silent. Pedals are easy just unclip one at a time. Look cleats do creak sometimes.

But chainring bolts are always my first port of call.

Grease wheel dropouts. I had a front that creaked, cost me big time and money to find that Bugger.

A fumble in the dark (torch held by toddler) last night revealed some slightly notchy bb bearings (bit shit after a few weeks), one slightly loose chainring bolt and a goosed chain. Chain replaced with a kmc inox item and chainring bolts all tightened. Weather has been atrocious so not been out today to test.
