Been trying to sell my norco aurum over on pink bike for over a month. Its a 2013 model with ccdb, boxxer teams, and other decent parts. Its a bit cosmetically scruffy nothing that removing thee helicopter tape and some new fork decals wouldn't fix.

Although far cheaper than any other bike on there of similar vintage best offer I have had is 550 quid. Is it really only worth that much, or should I stick on some new tyres, clean it up and try to get more.

Not keen on ebay as not desperate to sell but seems a waste as its never used. Ill happily sell for its true value, but not for a low ball offer.

What do you think it's true value is?

Put in on eBay with a reserve of what you think it is worth.   See what the bids go up to and that will tell you what it is actually worth.

the old adage "it's worth what someone's willing to pay" springs to mind here....

26"?, out of fashion angles/reach/etc?, is it 1x11?... all of these things don't matter in the grand scheme of things, a good bike is a good bike, but it's massively a buyers market out there, they can pick and chose as they see fit...

Other than the wheel size I dont think its that out of fashion is it!? Its not that old, its got a 63 degree ha!

I thought it was worth around 700 quid to be honest. 600 would be minimum id be hoping for. Its currently advertised for 650. Is it worth stripping the helicopter tape, fitting new tyres and fork decals do You think or is that just good money after bad?

If the heli tape is scruffy, the sure pull that off - doesn't cost you anything.

Maybe take tatty stickers off, replacement decals are £10 ish, so not free.

Definitely wouldn't put new tyres on - decent tyres are £at least £30 a pop new! Though you might grab a bargain 26" tyre for not much, which could help.

If you're gonna go to the bother and expense of putting new tyre and decals on you may as well just drop the price a bit and get it out of the way.

RIp the tatty tape off and give it a wash and polish. It’s amazing how a well presented bike sells vs one that looks tatty.

Harry main?

I think removing the tape and new decals is a good idea. Frame will look like new after hopefully! Thanks all.

Anyone got a cheap downhill tyre in 26 inch flavor going?

Just had a look and a few things might put me off, it's generally a rather negative reading advert.

Spelling mistakes in the ad bug me for some reason.  The description mentions wheel dings but there are no photos to assess the damage. You mention a choice of springs for the fork, why not offer them all, they are dirt cheap after all.

Rear brake needs bleeding which might put some off a little. Easily remedied by you sorting it, though.

Very brief list of components. People might like to know what is on the bike that they might be buying?

One solitary photo, blurry and low res.

All really easily changed around by editing the description with a little more detail, a rear brake bleed and a few photos of a freshly washed, well maintained bike.

Don't mean to sound harsh, but if you are selling something, SELL it!

Looks/sounds like a good bike.
Would probably benefit from  couple of decent photo's too.
Give it a wash/polish and take some pics in the sunshine.

Tbh I sold my old Norco DH bike v cheap bitd.

it’s a Norco at end of the day and all DH bikes depreciate like crazy. See carbon SC V10s for example.

@£550 you should've broken his arm snatching the money out of his hand.

it's a buyers market and you had one and now he maybe gone.

1. Why not bleed the brake? If I'm buying a bike I want to be excited, not taking it home to strip it down.

2. How much travel?

3. How many years?

4. What bars? Grips? Finishing kit?

5. Pedals?

Based upon the 1 picture I have no idea if it's a nice bike or not. Ask yourself this, if you wanted a bike, would you buy yours based upon that advert?
