We are planning to go to the Alps for the month of July

Last year we did 2.5 weeks in Alpe D'Huez which worked very well

Issue is with the TdF going there this year accommodation is hard to come by.

Do any of you guys know of Alpine bike resorts that also have Horse riding facilities suitable for young girls(8 & 9)? More specifically does Les Arc have a riding centre as that would be my first choice.

PDS is an option but other recommendations / experiences would be very welcome.

Thanks

There is definitely an equestrian centre of some description at the bottom of the funicular in Bourg - not sure exactly what it is though.

How's your French? http://www.cheval-rhone-alpes.com/equestre/index.php4?n=147 it's not the one I'm thinking of but it's not far away.

I asked a similar question not long ago and Morzine was suggested.

Thanks Guys

Prefer not to do Morzine (been there 4 times now) but think it may be easiest all around

Wallop - French is pretty poor but will se ewhat i can discern from that.

Try that as well. I just google "Bourg Saint Maurice equitation" and it brings up quite a few results. It's difficult to tell which are riding centres and which are just livery yards though.

Both of the centres identified by wallop provide livery and lessons. The first one says it does treks (randonnees) and shorter rides (balades a l'heure), the second one doesn't actually say, apart from some organised events in April.
