Hi,
Anybody know what bolt through hub size I'll need to fit the rear on an Alpine 160?
I've currently got a 135mm QR Hope Pro2 to convert if possible.
Cheers,
Sean
You'll need a 135mm 12mm conversion. Is it an old or an Evo Pro2? The 12mm axle is different for the 2 versions. If you've got an old Pro2 I'd go for the Evo version but that invloves a new freehub body as well. The old 12mm axles were a bit prone to snapping - particularly with the 'butted' Maxle Lite.

Its an old pro2 thanks for the advice ๐
if its an old pro 2 I'd consider (well I did) replacing the maxle with this

if you use the search function (or even google) youll see loads of discussions on snapped axles due to the maxle lite not supporting the axle where the bearings sit. A lot of people use and recommend a BETD 12mm bolt-thru axle but it is nearly twice the price of the one above.
The Pro 2 still snaps even with full-thickness bolt-throughs, the axle's just too thin for the job. But it does reduce the risk a lot. Hope know there's a problem so the warranty support is quick when it happens.
As with above, I wouldn't really bother converting an old Pro2 to 12mm. Better off with a new hub.
Hope are great with the warranty service, but it's just too much of a pain (especially since it's likely a walk home every time it happens!).
The new Evo has been awesome so far.
