Anyone know of a bikeshop that can service an Alfine 8-speed hub for me. Either in the North-east or North-West of England.

You should be able to get any Shimano dealer to send it Madison.

I think Edinburgh bicycle have the bits. From memory it's just stripping the guts out and dunking it in fluid

Bike UK in Bristol do my 11-spd - I'm sure the must do 8-spd as well.

Bit of a trip maybe, but Cycle Heaven in York are very good at servicing hub gears.
