As title really. Thinking about the On-One Pompetamine Versa, and wondering if anyone had tried both versions of the Alfine hub? From the website, it looks like the the extra 3 speeds add bottom end range. Is this like having the small cog available on an MTB triple?
Buying as a winter road/path/trail type bike - may overlap slightly with my MTB.

An 8 sp alfine is the gear range of a 1x9, a 11 speed of a 2x9 overall gearing can vary depending on chainring size.
