I'm about to move to the top of a very bil hill (for brighton anyhow) so i need a more suitable bike for commuting up a very big hill.

ideally i'd like to be able to razz it off road on the way down to work but need to do a long road climb (or off road) home

what should i get? toying with the idea of a proper sized rigid on-one.

any other cheap and cheerful xc bike deals out there? not sure i want suspension forks.

cheers,

mark

if the gradient is gradual and constant, get a single speed (road, track, MTB) then you can pump up there, great feeling when you get to the top

i think a single speed might kill me at this stage.

nost of my riding is gravity assisted fun/razzing in the woods.

with the right gearing it will be good, then as you get stronger / fitter you can change the gearing to suit

A road bike. Or MTFU and ride it on the bike you've got.
