I think i'm being a complete tool, I obtained some 'topo' maps: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1359#overviewTab but I havent a clue of how to put them on the garmin unit?
any help with this mostly appreciated 😉

Load the Topo maps to your PC, select the area you want to transfer to the eTrex, click on the Transfer button at the top of the screen, click on Send to device.

hmm.. the topo software i got came as an executable and just extracted a wedge of files to the c: drive.
hmmmmmm
rob, if i sort this out, i'll bring 'em on an sd card for you.
