Asks the owner if he's like to take part in a lager survey?
"Er, OK then" I reply.
Ten minutes of questions later I was given my invitation to a tasting session at a local sports and social club.
Wifey and the Boy were off to the cinema so off I went after work to do my bit for consumer research.
The session consisted of a half pint 'palate cleanser' followed by another four half pint samples to try whilst filing out a 35 page questionnaire. It made for a quite relaxing hour. we weren't told what each one was but I found out later that the samples were Peroni, San Miguel, Cobra and Kingfisher, with the 'palate cleanser being Carling.
One was horrible, one was bland and the other two actually quite nice considering I usually drink ales.
Then, as I was leaving, I was told "don't go yet, we haven't given you your money". A tenner for my time.
😯the 'palate cleanser being Carling.
Then you woke up.........
when do we get the punch line ? 😕
Similar thing happened when I was a student - got accosted by, what I assumed to be, a run of the mill Chugger......90 mins later I was quite light headed having tried quite a few half pints of lager. Didn't get any money though - who do I complain to!!! 😉
why don't you just win the lottery as well you ****
😡 [jealous pout]
Did she make you spit or swallow ? 😆
when do we get the punch line
Sorry, no punch line, just sharing a genuinely pleasant and unexpected surprise.
for a whole tenner i hope he swallowed and looked graciously into her eyes whilst doing so.
One was horrible
That would be the Rohypnol then.
Were your pants on the wrong way round when you came out?
One of my friends used to be an organiser of these consumer tests for various brands so I got to pretend to be all kinds of people on numerous tests, got paid and got loads of freebies - great laugh.
massive lol at phil!!!!!!
Sounds alright to me, paid a tenner for drinking free beer.
A mate of mine was signed up to do market research things and asked if I wanted to do one, one evening as he couldn't make it.
It was about car servicing and specifically engine oil.
I was there for about 90mins, they paid money for travel & then £25 for my time! Plus there was sandwiches and drinks available including various beers! It was a fab evening!!
I did another two while living in Cambridge; randomly accosted in the street on a Saturday.
One was for Calipo Shots - the lemon/lime ice things, although I didn't know what they were at the time (they were still being developed) and the other one was for a 'new' coffee machine that turned out to be Tassimo. That was ridiculous - I must have had about 8 coffees in an hour and felt distinctly 'awake' by the end!
I quite fancy the idea of a beer one though!!
Best avoid the anti-inflammatory drug one though
