Well two actually.
I am going 1x11 on an XT 785 crank on my general bike with a 34t chainring to start. To save me dismantling my trail bikes chainring bolts could somebody please tell me what size I need.
Secondly, in my searches for bolt size, which I could not find, there were lots of comments saying spacers were needed, 2mm or 2.5mm. I do not have these on my other bike and it seems OK if a bit noisey in the largest cogs. Do the collective recomend the spacers or not?

you either fit single-ring bolts, or fit spacers to the backs of the longer two-ring bolts.
