[Closed] Saddle moving backwards?

Yes, it is done up tightly...

Bought a selle italia SLR ti saddle for my Canyon Ultimate recently. Fitted it, did a few government sanctioned rides and was quite happy with it. Noticed on Saturday that I had fitted it badly - the saddle was pushed all the way back and the clamp was actually forward of the marked measurements.

Tutting to myself, I loosened it, pushed it forward, checked the angle and re-tightened.

Rode around 45 miles on Sunday, and another 20 in lunch today. Just putting the bike away when I noticed that the saddle again was pushed right back!

I've reset it, and re-tightened it. Taken a photo to prove to myself that I'm not going mental.

Anyone ever had this? And how do you stop it happening?

Not had this but, depending on the seatpost design, is it possible the two plates as they clamp around the saddle rail end up touching together as you tightener the seatpost bolt thereby, instead of clamping the rails tight, they are clamping together tight? Only reason I could see that it would get the movement you have aside the obvious not doing it up tightly enough. Maybe the new saddle rails are a little thinner than other saddle rails

Like nuke, I haven't had this either but just thinking, would it be worth trying some carbon paste, just to try to increase the friction between saddle rail and seat post clamp...?

Carbon paste did the trick for me when I had the same problem

+1 try carbon paste

I think I just swapped seatpost in the end though.
