i have always wanted to do the climb to the monument,from the calne/beckhampton road (as you get to the dual carriageway it goes uphill past a pub,you see a car park (lay-by) there is a sign at the beginning of the ascent describing the castle/flora fauna e.t.c anyhoo it gets really technical (well it's technical for me 😉 with a lot of step ups,ruts,drainage ditches e.t.c as you climb,you can see both cherhill monument and the white horse on your left.basically can anyone climb it all the way to the top? and if so,can you give a numpty any advice on how to attempt it myself.i have tried a few times,but every time,i am defeated,by all the technical bits.i really want to climb it in one go (and by the gods i will 😉 anyone 😕
