Riding around Portland kindled a need for a fixed wheeled bike. I've not ridden one since my student days in Edinburgh. Idly surfing ebay this came up in my size and in steel, so a random bid and it's mine. Nae idea how 563 compares to 531 but it'll be a winter bike project.

I saw this hub convertor which screws onto an old style screw on freewheel hub. Has anyone tried one?

not sure about the converter but fixed rear wheels are easily available, with that frame I'd go for some reasonable equipment not a compromise

I have some good 80's specialized sealed bearing hubs on some virtually unused mavic rims that I'd like to use. A retro 80's specialized chainset, some Nitto bars, Just need a half decent front brake and some levers.

Gear selection for the Binn road will be tricky. Up and down.
