So, the little one has had a Rothan since he was 2, and got on really well with it. Yesterday, his Cnoc14 arrived (he's 3 and 1/2), and within minutes he was pedalling up and down our road like he'd been doing it for years.
Proud dad and all, but I was almost hoping there would be more to teaching him to ride. However, he seems very happy about it all- second day today and he's already doing long laps of the park (Fitz park in Keswick, for those that know it).
Balance bikes = brilliant!
Totally agree. Rothan is part of the family here and my little 'un went straight onto his "big boy bike"
Congrats, same as my wee girl, three & a half, last week her big sister got a Bienn and she got the hand me down Cnoc. I thought she would take a few weeks to get her head around the pedals after the Rothan, however we went to meet Mrs 853 and off the little blighter went.
She is now whizzing around like nobody's business with a great big cheesy grin.
+1 for the balance bike.
I've now got the two year old on the Rothan!
My lad wont pedal his bike since learning on a balance bike. He's been on the balance bike for almost a year now and loves it, takes it everywhere. I bought him a Spec Hotrock 12 off ebay, intending on it being his 3rd birthday pressie, but he found it early! He's now 3+2 months, had the bike for about 6months.
I took him to the park the other day and spent 30mins holding the bike and insisting he pedalled (with cake reward). He was pedalling, so thats an improvement. I'm going to do the same each eve if I can.
yes mine could ride long before they could/would actually pedal.
it is amazing to just give one little push and then watch them ride off, this time will come.
Wait till you start doing kerbs and steps
