Just a thank you really, everyone had a great time riding your trails yesterday, and apologies if some of the group strayed off onto the cordoned off area, i believe it was a few of us - apologies on their behalf.

If you havent been to Drumlanrig then its definately worth a look. We dropped by on the annual Team Sperm Old Duffers weekend and after a day at Kirroughtree something none trail centre was needed (all spoilt peaks riders who fail to get off on trail centres!).

Totally unsure of what to expect before and on arrival, once we got started there were smiles all round from all 18 of us after the first couple of descents.

In short, if you dont like trail centres but find yourself in the borders then go here for a real fun day. Imagine playing in teh woods as kids pulling skids and getting muddy! No gravel tracks in sight, they have just carved a track in following where people rode between tapes after a race and went with that. It was leafy and in places tricky to pick out the track, muddy in places and rooty which was a real gem about the place, none of this trail centre bubbish of cutting them out or covering them with dirt! Nah Nah, get them exposed and slide around.

It wont be to everyones taste, but like i say if you want a day of old school type riding and dont want to ride a scalectric track then go. Its a lot longer than you expect too, they have packed a lot into them woods!

Oh and make use of the bike wash and showers too, great little touch as a lot of visitors will have a 150+ mile journey ahead of them when they leave.

Well done Rik and co.

Also a big shout out once again to the Marthrown guys for putting us up in your roundhouse, stoking the hot tub fire and cooking brekko once again!

Good weekend had by all!

+1 for Drumlanrig. There's some cracking woodland trails there. Rik's hire bikes are good too.
