Okay, i know Jtek used to make little ratio pullys, however due to health issues he has now shut down.
I want to use Sram TT 10speed bar end shifters and an X.0 deralliur, however iv only just bought a 9 speed TI cassette and chain. i really cant affored another £xxx on another chain and cassette.
I belive on shimanos there is a way to reroute the cable to allow different ratios
Are there any other methods or anything similar to shimanos?

Not quite sure what you are asking, but if you have SRAM shifters and an X0 mech, they will work together. Cassette & chain make isn't important......
are the sram TT shifters 10 speed?
take it the TT shifters are 10 speed
you could experiment with the cable clamp but i suspect tha you'll never get truly slick shifting
the shimano workaround is a fluke of chance really
Hi yeah, maybe i should have explained myself better.
The TTshifter are 10speed, and the cassette is 9 speed.
I wasnt sure if there any other companys making ratio changing pullys out there?

Bugger, just noticed that it doesn't have SRAM 10 speed on there.
Anyway, as above, chances are that 10 speed SRAM shifters won't work with 9 speed SRAM cassette and mechs.

Why on earth are you using TT shifters on an MTB?
Or... why are you using an MTB mech on a TT bike?
It won't work properly. Simple.
Reason: i need to mount my shifter on the frame, im going to machine a plate to mount it to the bottole mount.
TT bar ends are perfect for mounting like this. i can machine a plate with a 45 degree block to mount to.
Im using a gyro up front you see and dont wanna go single speed.

For all that hassle, I reckon it'd be easier just to get an old handlebar, cut of a section approx 15cm long, flatten/crush the tube at one end, bend that approx 90 degrees, drill a hole in the flattened bit and then bolt it onto the bottle cage mount. Then fit a normal shifter to the handlebar stump. Job done and not having to bodge a system with a very espensive shifter.
This is on your Kona which, for some totally unbeknown reason, wasn't liked on Pink Bike?
Edit: as an aside... why are you running a Gyro on an MTB, and how do you have brakes?
If you must use TT shifters, just get some Shimano friction jobbies.
Everythign about this Kona sounds awe-inspiring. Just imagine: a Kona with TT shifters attached to the bottle bosses and a gyro! How could it be anything but ACE? 8)

Am I missing something? Is 10speed XX not the same ratio lever pull as 9spd XO? So you'll just have a redundant stop if you use a 9spd XO mech?
You could avoid all this by holding the gear cable in your teeth. Bit of gaffa tape and you enamel will be fine.

I have no problem with you using a gyro on your bike, it is your bike, you can spaff it up any which way you please.

How about just using non RTC 9spd TT shifters? Its a bodge anyway.

As far as I know, all SRAM shifters (maybe not the roadie hoods, dunno) use 1:1 ratio shifting, so you'll just have a redundant shift, but you could probably tension that out if you were really anal about it.
No no no no no... SRAM 10 speed cassettes are the same width as their 9 speed ones, with an extra cog, so every time you shift on a 9 speed set up, you'll be undershifting by 10% or so.
Why don't you just fit a cheap 10 speed road block to the bike? If it's a jump bike you're hardly going to be honking up hills presumably?

That may be true, but the actual [u]amount[/u] of cable pull here is important, not the ratio.
Looks like a 9spd non RTC shifter then.
I think the way forward here is goign to be non R2C friction shifter.
They dont make 9speed TT's.
I appreciate the help, i think thats the only way forward here.
Other than spending weeks in making a ratio pully...which i dont fancy.

Or you could swap/buy the 9spd stuff you bought in error for some 10spd stuff.

Should be easy to sell on nearly new 9sp cassette & chain, the RTC shifter sounds like a neat way of doing it to me and would certainly be different to what most people have...
