Will a shimano 9 speed cassette fit onto my son's shimano 8 speed hub.
not sure of the model but it will be a basic one.

An 8 speed and 9 speed cassette are the same width so there should be no problem at all.

he needed new shifters and I bought 9 speed by mistake.
so an upgrade for the little fella.
