Hi All,
I am trying to use my old wheels (Mavic cross-rides 2012 versions) in an upgrade from 8 speed to 10 speed. I built up the original 8 speed shimano version with no issues but now have play in the new cassette when installed. Its a 10 speed XT.
I thought 8, 9 & 10 speeds were the same width or do I need a spacer. Don't recall using a spacer on the 8 speed but may have removed and binned it with the old cassette.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Mavic wheels normally need a spacer part M40417, Having used slightly older Crossride wheels, they still needed this regardless of the cassette used, thinking you may have binned it with the old cassette, You should be able to order the part from any good LBS, [url= http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mavic-cassette-spacer/rp-prod25399 ]link to the part at CRC[/url].
