I have to make a business trip to Merthyr Tydfil ..... What would be best trail centres closest to it ?
Might stop over and go riding but don't know the area at all?

Afan or CwmCarn are reasonably close. Bike park Wales is good fun if you can get the uplift and actually in Merthyr.

You could always do the Gap ride, just Google the gap ride brecon beacons.
