Looking for the next project and landed on converting this nice old steel cotic soul mk 1 to a bike packer with a 29+ front end and rear 26" 2.4 tyre

Got a surly enabler fork and popped in an old 29er wheel just to see what it looks like and I'm not sure it's right. All the measurements are equivalent to the 120mm fork that came off but sitting on it it doesn't feel the same.

I'm going to get the wheels built soon but starting to think it could be better with 27.5+ up front. Any way to calculate if that would help as don't have a 27.5 wheel I could it out with.

A 29x2.35" G One Speed up front with a 26x4" Jumbo Jim on my fatbike keeps the geo pretty much as designed.

It’ll work but I’d imagine you might be better off with B+ up front TBH. I rode a 26in Inbred with a 29x2.3 front and it was OK but I don’t think I’d have pushed it to 29x3.
