ive tried the straits and although they were comfy i dont like the fact there is no hard shell. ive never tried the evo's but they sound like they go some way to rectify this, though id still go for a proper hard shell one.

Don't think they are myself, the benefit of the custard-tech is supposed to be for comfort and freedom of movement, which the Kyle Straits absolutely nail already. The Evos are physically a little smaller though. D30 seems to really come into its own with multi-direciton movement like in shorts
