Been through this many times but I'm not getting any joy from the search box.
I have a Pike and a set of 2015 Fox 34... both spare and have a hankering for a 650b+ HT... Will I be able to get a 2.8 tyre on a 31mm internal rim in the forks and how much room will there be.
Think I posted up pictures myself but a liking for strong cider has addled my brain somewhat.

I can’t speak for the Fox but I doubt that’ll fit in the Pike. I’ve got a non boost Yari with a 2.5wt Maxxis Dhf in it on a 25mm inner rim size. There’s room to run the tyre with an enduroguard but it’s fairly tight. If you up both the tyre size and the rim width it’s going to be very very tight if it does fit.
Similarly, can't speak for Fox (and you don't specify what length fork you're running) but I ran two different 2.8" WTBs on a 40mm rim on a set of 29er Marz 320s and X Fusion Slides. I could also run an enduro guard, but the tyre fouled on a Mudhugger.
I suspect a 3" tyre would also be pushing things.
As an aside, I also run a 2.6 650b Conti on an X Fusion 650b non-Boost fork with a Mudhugger and no issues.
I have a 2013/14 fox 32 in 26 and a 2.4 ardent is very close to rubbing the enduro guard. Approx 7-8 mm gap. A 650b with a 2.2 was no even close to fitting. Hope that is of use.
i have a wtb trailblazer 2.8 on a mavic crossride rim, quite narrow i think <25mm internal, running in my 2014 fox 32 evo ctd forks (standard on a 2014 canyon spectral al 6.0) have a muckynutz guard on that and still have about 10mm clearance around the tyre.
Pike 27.5 none boost, it depends on the tyre
i run a dhf 2.6 on a 30mm rim and there isn’t much clearance
i think something like a rekon 2.8 might. Weirdly a 2.8 dhf does fit straight out the packet however i seriously doubt after its stretched it would work
on a 29 none boost the 2.8 fits
2.8 NN on a 50mm rim fits in a 29er non boost Pike.
Not much clearance for mud but doesn't rub.
A 2.8 Recon will also fit with the same setup.

I popped my 650b 2.8" Rekon on a 40mm (might be 45mm) rim in my non boost Pikes and it clears but the power bulges are in the wrogng place. Probably fine for all but the muddiest rides.
