How do the New and Old Heckler compare ? 😀 I nearly bought the new one but got a 26 Tracer 2, has the option to go 650b with new dropouts.

Had a demo on one of these a couple of weeks ago. It was fantastic. Love the club tropicana colours.

Enjoy!

Can I ask what made you go for this?Did you test ride it or just go for it?

I posted in the Horsethief thread not realising though and found out they are 29ers 🙁 ,as I'm a shortarse so bargain wise another stonking deal missed because im genetically wronged in the leg department "I'm oot"

I was waiting for a 650b Rocket as an upgrade to my Giant but it seems despite the interweb pics of bits and bobs there's more chance of vaporware than riding a bike this summer

They seem to be a similar priced frame and that blue looks beautiful.

must admit I really like that, after many bikes my 2003 heckler is still remembered as my favourite

Thanks for all the comments!

I did the build myself, but I purchased the Hope brakes from LBS, they beat the cheapest price online - but they wanted £50 to fit, set up, shorten hoses. When I went to collect they hadn't shortened the brake hoses, they were hoping I would accept that, i took it home but then took it back for them to shorten them. Only got it back today so haven't been out on it yet.

Maiden voyage sometime this week.

The colour looks zoo much better in the flesh!

£3174 to build

Lovely looking bike, trying to come up with reasons why to buy one.
Not that I need one I already have a tracer 2 that I have just converted to 650b.

Jeffus, if you decide to convert your tracer 2 to 650b give me a shout as due to trying to source the parts quickly (dropouts & brakes adapter) I ended up with 2 brake adapters.

Very nice!

Might be worth heli taping along the underside of the down tube, top tube, stays on the rear triangle and any point where the cables touch the frame.

The paint on my 2013 Heckler is like soft cheese and I wish I'd done it sooner.

£3174 to build

Pretty much what mine cost, on valuation by my LBS what I would have paid at RRP upped that by a grand so make sure you've got it insured properly.

🙂

Is that one of them old fashioned front mech things clamped to the bottom of the seat tube? Not seen one of those in a while.

Also a High Roller on the front, are you mad?

I'd rather see a 650B Chameleon.

(Nice bike.)

First ride at the weekend, a quick blast around Cannock Chase.
first impressions are good, it really is easy to pedal, noticed no difference to steering through tight switchback.
What impressed me most is how nice the rear end feels, really stiff and precise. Rear shock is nice and plush.
keep you updated!
