anyone tried or run 650 wheels and wider tyres in their gravel/adventure frames ?
Currently running an Arkose with small block 8's but after a bike packing trip the weekend in wales and numerous punctures , im looking at wider options and it looks like 40c are the max so is smaller wheels and wider tyres an option ?

Had a look at doing this on my Saracen Hack and the clearance at the stays wasn't there. I could get 40c in at 700 but going down to 650b meant I actually I had less lateral clearance because of where the stays are crimped.

Maybe try tubeless....

Depends on your particular frame if you have clearance and you can manage the resulting lower BB.

depends if your stays are "straight" or curved or crimped.

if straight you should be good to go.

If its a steel frame you could have a go at further crimping your stays.

Best to borrow a wheel and try.
