Just picked up a frame second hand with a 5th element air shock, I have heard they can be a bit pants, but this one is in great nick, anyway, anyone have any expert tips on setting these up?

It's on a spesh enduro (2005-6) by the way and I am chunky.

TF are a great source of info on these.

try 155 in main & 55 in the ifp (i'm arround 15 stone...)to start with it's a bit trial and error but stick with it... and don't listen to all the old wives tales.....

getting the pressures make a huge difference to how they work and the threshold between being great and pant's is v fine + or - 5 psi ime.....

downside to this shock is theres no manufacturer suport any more but TF have most spares (lthough not shafts for them altough mines been heavily worn for 2 year..happily I have a spare)

i have one on my old yeti 575 and had it TF tuned years ago which made a world of difference,
As above, pressures are a bit critical but it works really well once set up ๐Ÿ˜†

Ta T1000, will try that.

Does the ifp effect the progression of the spring and the main air chamber is the spring rate and hence sag?
