I’ve got an Orange Alpine Five. I have an XTR rear mech 50t Sunrace cassette, with an Absolute Black 34t oval front ring and a Goat tooth hanger. currently if I click to change from 2nd to 3rd nothing happens click again and it jumps to 4th and I shift down to 3rd. If I screw the B tension screw back out it sorts this shifting issue out…. however when I get to 11th there is loads of slack in the chain. In 1st there is no slack whatsoever.
Any ideas what I can do?
Chain length?
And the usual hanger alignment, new cables etc.
I use one of these: https://garbaruk.com/products/rear-derailleur-cages.html?limit=all
with one of their 50T cassettes (11 Speed setup, XT Mech). Not had any problems and the longer cage takes up the slack well.
Chain length can't be any shorter as it is already at max stretch on the 50t, don't think it's hanger alignment as it shifts when the b screw is wound out and I've put a new cable in.
Hmm, no idea then. 🙁
The chain couldn't be any shorter even with the smaller B gap?
I put a sunrace 11-50t on my son's scout with a GS 11sp XT mech. All I had to do is turn the B screw a bit and adjusted the wire tension,
One Up shark cage might be worth a go if you've prove that standard kit and the goat link isn't enough.
However, have you checked the hanger alignment?
I use a sram GX eagle mech with my hope 10-48, works a treat with 11sp sram shifter
