I've got all day tomorrow in the peak district and could do anything.

I've not got the legs for the 57 miler I had planned

Any suggestions?

My more recent long peaks rides are hathersage- moor- hope quarry ( cavedale if I have the legs)- broken road climb then over and up to Jacob's ladder- Casleton- then  back.

Since my wee one was born I don't get to get up the the peaks proper much and tend to do a variation on the above. Prior to that I'd be up most weekends for 25 miles or similar.

Suggestions welcome

You lucky person  🙂 (from a southern resident).

I don't have loads and loads of different places I've ridden but I think a couple of my very favourite rides of all the time I've been riding have been around Edale.  I think it's partly because it's the first place I ever rode somewhere really rough (back when flex stems were a thing) and I've really positive memories of good trips there, met great people on the trails etc and introduced my boys to it a year or two back round this loop. I'm sure someone could do better but we were constrained by starting somewhere that my wife could walk the dog from as well.

I enjoyed doing this a few weeks back. Not 40 miles, but felt like a big half-day out.

Or this from a couple of years back. Rather more than 40 miles, but options to shorten.

Could do something on the Eastern Moors if you've not been that way recently - Stanage, Blacka Hill are good. I think that is the best aspect of the Peak, looking Westwards from that general area.

Cut Gate always a reliable option.

Ladybower loop, extending to Cut Gate (and back) one end and Cavedale the other? Possibly adding the Hayfield/Jacob's Ladder loop on as well?

Maybe too similar to your usual though?

Peak, peak, peak. Singular.  Peaks is meaningless waffle.

Anyway, back to the question...

Do the 9 best Peak descents?  ( They're not, but it'll get you on a different route....)
