Hi,

Anyone selling a 58cm road bike for around the price above.

It's for a mate of mine who has suddenly discovered bikes, so want to help encourage him (although he'll be paying)

I'd scour ebay for a nice retro roadie and spend the spare cash on some nice clobber to go with it.

Triban 3 is an option. Also seen a Saracen on Rutland cycles with carbon fork and 2400 group set for £375.

Northernmatt, that boardman is online. £444 on page with extra 10% off at checkout. Shame it's only today as I'll not see him again until work tomorrow.

I'll second the CAAD8 from Pauls. Good for the price and the frame is more than worthy of throwing £££s at later down the line.

Or a GT GTR:

These were my contenders but managed to get an ex-demo GTR2 for the same price instead.

Crazy price for the CAAD - only thing to put against it would be something from Decathlon, either three hundred quid for the same groupset, or £430 for Sora. If you think he's long term keen, I think the CAAD frame might be the better long term investment.

Hi Stu,
It's a 60- I was measured up for a 58 and it was laughably small (there's a thread on here somewhere) so I swapped it for a 60.
It's 9 months old and has done 378 miles!

I'm near Newbury.
Cheers.

Forgot to mention that I'd like around £360 for it. It's in great condition- Weeksy of this parish was about to buy it until he smashed his shoulder in and had a change of priority 😉 He can vouch for condition and milage.

Cheers,
Andrew

Paid 425 for a immaculate 12 month old CaaD8 with 105 recently. Scour the classifieds, gumtree etc and there are loads of hardly used bikes about.

Hi Crosshair.

Thanks for the update but I couldn't convince him to buy a 2nd hand bike that's only £70 less than brand new.

Most 2014 road bikes are going to drop in price by at least 20% in the next 2 months as the 'season' comes to an end - it's likely that the 500 that replaced the Triban 5 will come down to around £360 brand new, with a higher spec.

What's the best price you can do posted?

Thanks.

Stu

I could prob do £320 posted. I would rather keep it for less.
