Having un-gracefully retired my Giro Montaro against a lower-than-expected tree a couple of days ago I now need a new helmet.

I've got a full face which I'll keep for uplift days, but I find having to remove it to drink too annoying to wear it for anything even vaguely pedally. Given that a decent proportion of the riding I attempt is of the 'get it wrong and it will really hurt' variety, I'm looking at options like the Fox Dropframe or new Bell 3/4 Air - anyone any experience of these (or similar) as a do-it-all MTB helmet?

The one thing I really liked about the Montaro was the built-in light/gopro mount, but it doesn't seem like anyone else does this, so I'll have to go back to faffing with Exposure mounts and vent positioning, so that is a consideration.

The dropframes have a removable go-pro mount under the visor. I have one on my proframe, which is why I'm leaning the same way as you for a 3/4 face.

The new Bell 3Qtr Air also has a breakaway undervisor mount.

Have both versions of the Dropframe Pro, so that's my recommendation too. Also have the Proframe and put the GoPro mount on (peak/visor is almost identical) - can confirm it works well there, much better than a chin mount i got for my Bell Super DH
