I'm just about to take the plunge and get a Solaris in XL
I'm 190 cm tall - and around 130 kgs but working on it
I need a recommendation of some forks so:
air sprung (easier to set up)
120mm travel
500 quid max - the near 300 quid , the happier I will be
Tapered steerer
On my current bikes I have been using revelations , which have stood up well
Should I be looking at 34 or 36 stantions because of my bulk
Any thoughts?
I'm a carbon copy of you right down to bike choice. I bought the dual air revelations with tapered steerer from crc, if they've still got em I foresee zero issues.
I was up near that weight for a while. My 100-130mm revs on my Soda held up fine. This was 26 though.
Now down near 100kg after a hard 9 months, and the fox fork on my Gyro 29er copes fine. It feels very stiff.
Lummox
Are they the 130 mm travel ones adjusted?

I'd get the revs at CRC if they're still cheap
Think you've linked twice to the same forks, but yes that looks like them. I hasten to add I'm still waiting on the frame but my 26er revs haven't missed a beat and I've really given them some stick.
Internally adjustable via spacers (which were in the pack)
i'm tempted by a pair of those revs to replace my 100mm rebas on my Carbon Cube hardtail,... i've got about 20mm worth of spacers, and a stem with rise, so get rid of those and it should pretty much offset the extra height of the fork shouldn't it...
it's a great bike, i'm just doing some stuff that is right on its limit at the moment and the 20mm bolt-thru would be lovely, as i'm QR at the moment.....eeesh new wheel too
would this be okay do you think?
I doubt 120mm forks would work well on a carbon hardtail designed for 100mm? Slacker ha, slightly higher bb....and no warranty?
Ah, nope mine are the cheaper ones but I'd imagine they would space down fine.
