I used to use 32-18 on my old 26er - just wondering what the equivalent would be on a 29er? Does the larger wheel make a difference?

umm i use 32:18 on my 29er as its similar to 32:16, maybe have a play around on [url= http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gears/ ]here[/url] to find the gear inch you prefer

Yes. Would be 32:20 I think. 32:16 (2:1) on 26" normally reckoned to be 32:18 on 29er.

32/20 here which seems to be similar to 32/18 on my previous 26"
