Lovely that. Name was a bit of an education back in the day.
Very nice, I always fancied on of those. My Stumpy’s 31 years old & used every day. Rad-ish 🤟
My pub bike is a bit younger - only 18 years old. It's been through a couple of incarnations, including being lent to a needy STWer.
How it started.
How it's going.
That is one lovely pub bike 😁
My cove lasted me 14 years. Not bad for a stiffee 😉
Knkt sure how old this, but I've had the forks for at least 14 years
Not sure what that is @scotroutes but it looks great. I'm definitely in the mood for getting an old 26 bike again, would be ideal for the sort of thing I do at weekends on the posh gravel bike
Nice hummer, I bought a hummer frame from Merlin in 2013 for £800 and spent another £2.5k building it up 😲 , rode for 2 years then when I couldn’t get my legs to work (SPMS) I converted to a throttle equipped bafang runabout so I could still get out of house, not been rode since 2019 and it’s currently sat in my bedroom in immaculate condition reminding me of what I can’t do anymore so I should get round to selling it before I take a hammer to it in frustration
@tall_martin ... Let me know if you ever plan on getting rid of the tandem, as might be interested! I've a daughter with Down Syndrome, she's nearly 16 but very short for her age. She does ride independently but only very short trip, but reckon she might be up for some modest touring if we had a suitable tandem.
Sorry, I'm hoping to keep it for quite a while.
I'm 6"4 and it fitted my son at 4 3/4. With the saddle up it fits my 5"4 wife.
It's a thorn kiddie back tandem, there are a few about. I had to do 200 miles round trip for this one.
The saddle is obnoxiously high as arrived rigid but my old forks fitted
. From rigid to 140mm forks plays havock with the steering, so it's run very very soft with loads of compression damping.
See here with the saddle set for my wife, hence my son not pedaling 😁
We did a five-tour of France, Belgium, Holland and Germany with junior on a Thorn kiddiback. It sold for what we paid for it. I have some 26" hardtails we use for rough stuff touring and shopping. They're 9s but well equiped with XT and XTR from FS bikes that cracked. No way would I leave them outside a pub.
