I’ve always fancied attending and spectating at a World Cup DH quali and race weekend, but having not got myself organised enough to get to Fort William, which venue is likely to be easiest to get to from the UK, probably flying, not driving from the UK. *Stuff like access, accommodation availability, transfers etc….
When we went to Passo Tonale skiing a couple of years ago, we flew into Verona and drove past the Val De Sole Course, so that might be doable but it seemed out in the sticks a bit so accommodation might be tight.
Leogang is around 1hr 15min from Salzburg airport.
Not sure how much the accommodation and car hire would be.
Glad we managed to get to Fort William in '24.
I was a bit gutted that they dropped Poland for this year - had a decent trip planned for that one!
I've been to a bunch of European world cups but I've always been driving and camping so I've got limited useful advice. We stayed in Camping Dolomiti near Val di Sole. It's a short ride (or walk) from the venue along a cycle path. Not sure how you'd get into the area though.
Les Gets would be the 'easiest' in terms of flights, short transfers, no car hire required and access to the venue. The only problem is how busy it gets so book early. Also don't stand anywhere near the people with chainsaws.
