Anybody tried it. I know it fits 27.5x2.8 but just wondering if you can fit a 29er wheel with a decent tyre size in the frame as well?

It's a bit tight with a 29er in there, a "decent" size won't fit (mostly cos of the 430mm stays and straight seat tube) but you can get some mud pluggers in there or racy XC tyre on a 29er wheel.

So would a Minion 2.3 fit or are we talking 2.1s ?

Just interested in why, as you'd ruin the whole point of the bike losing the plus tyres.

The latter, rather than the former...

The ability to be 2 bikes in one... I totally get it, and it's the reason I didn't buy a 909/905 myself. For some places I ride, a 29er with 2.3" tyres is just far more effective than a 27.5+, but then some places the 27.5+ makes more sense on a HT anyway...

What about the other way round i really  want to be able to ride a 29 so I’m now looking at the 629 but those key hole stays make change to 27.5’s look questionable.

Will the 629 take a 27.5?
