Oh and the 'annoying' female presenter is Rochelle Gilmore who owns and runs the womens Wiggle-High5 pro road team..
I think she's actually doing a pretty good job considering she's obviously been drafted in as Chris Boardman has come home.. loving the 'moosetache' 🙂

Commentator "Kulhavy never had a bottle on his bike"

Next shot? Yep. You guessed it!

Soft tail = rear suspension in this commentary context.

She's not doing too badly, having been roped in at short notice.

First time I've heard the term "soft tail"

Surely, with the potential for mechanical problems, these kind of races can be best two of three, points races.

Frenchie into 3rd - they like that on France-2

There was enough controversy when they initially introduced the tech and feed zones.. 'It's not realy mountain biking unless they carry their own tools and fix their own mechanicals' but it has led to better racing.
To make it a best 2 from 3 would mean having to shorten the races to something more like a sprint race unless they run them over several days.. these races are damned hard and the riders are wrecked by the end..

Some events just have a bigger part for luck to play I guess, especially equipment sports.

Not so surprising seeing as they have three prospective podium finishers in this race.

Nino's making it look like he rode 5 laps with Kulhavy just for the company.

Gosh, so Olympics are different because they only come around once every four years. Great commentary 😯

Verbal diarrhoea

He's a man who knows how to win mtb races - its awful drivel

Machanicals: up to the riders to pick the kit and decide how light they want to go.

Ouch Austrian in a bad way - no party pack padding either

Wiggles yes there have been a (token) whip or two

My point was there is a big difference between a whip and a tail whip...

That's going to be another grosse déception pour les français. They had three real hopes for a medal.

Early in they said the options were hardball, soft-tail and full sus

Watching on Estonian tv so had no idea what is being said!

Not got a chance to read through previous posts but this seems more technically challenging than London course...? Plus extra heat and humidity = very hard work!

Remind me again why mountain biking races aren't TV/sponsorship friendly? This is great to watch!

I'm glad they've told me it's the Olympic Games, here in Rio. I'd have been lost otherwise...

If she mentions Schurter's "little mishap" on the previous lap again, I might scream!

I love mountain biking, but this I think is far duller to watch than the road race.

Think the Spaniard is saving a bit for the finish sprint now.

Edit: obviously not
