Ladies and gents,

I have been trying fruitlessly to get the gears set up on my new 2013 Lapierre Spicy. I am running 1 x 10 via a 10 speed Sram long cage clutch mech and 10 speed X9 shifter.

I have two issues:

A) To stop the mech sitting on the cassette in the hardest gear I have to adjust the 'B' screw all the way in, which makes getting the wheel in a pain in the ass!

B) Both limit screws are on their extremes, the low end just to line it up with the first gear and the other all the way out. Even then I cannot get the easiest gear on setup. I could no problem on my old frame and its all the same kit. The shifter will click the right amount of shifts but the rear mech runs out of 'travel'. Photos show it better:

The only conclusion I can come to is that the mech hanger sits too far out. Any ideas?

Maybe a bent hanger? I've got a 2013 zesty ( same frame) running 10 speed and 40t on the rear, set up no problem.

To much tension in the cable, try loosening it out?

Aside from any other issues you may have, your B tensioning collar on the mech isn't sitting behind the lug on the hanger, this isn't going to help your cause.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't think SRAM derailleurs are supposed to work with Shimano Direct Mount hangers (like the one on your Lapierre). This would explain the limit screw issues and the fact that the B-tension does not sit properly.

Have you tried a longer B-screw?

The one that came with the Hope T-Rex is about double the length and meant mine worked a treat.

Thanks for all the replies gents, I have had another look at it this morning and more is arising! I have taken it all apart and put it back together but I am stumped.

The 'B' screw lug is definitely behind the mech hanger lug, I cannot mount it any other way (see photos below) And also I cant use the carbon protection wing that comes fitted to the frame as it interferes with the mech cage.

Mech hanger on its own, doesnt look bent or twisted.

Mech lug is sat on the mech hanger lug, cant see any other way!

As the sits in lowest gear with 'B' screw completely screwed in.

Carbon mech protector sits on the mech.

I still think you have the wrong (Direct Mount) hanger, simply for the fact that it goes out and to the back. The hanger should look like this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ro/en/north-shore-billet-derailleur-hanger-lapierre-12x142mm/rp-prod118230

Correct hanger with SRAM derailleur and protection:

otsdr, you are correct! After a bit more hunting on google images it seems they should come with a 'short' mech hanger as standard which is the same as above. I have ordered the one above, you genius!

Well, CRC say it only fits 2014 models, make sure the mounting points are the same before ordering.
