Hi Chaps,

Has anyone run a 1x9 on a Whippet... and if so, how did you manage it?

I'm looking at making a custom mount for a guide, but wondering if there is a easier way...

Cheers

Ricks

I'm dubious it'll work - as the Whippet has a FD-direct mount - which avoids the use of a seat tube mounted front mech.

A mate of mine has just finished his whippet 1x9 build & he isn't running a guide. I think he's mad!

He has tried the Superstar components seat tube mount guide & it doesn't fit.

MRP do a FD mount chain guide.

Looks like a sheet of Alu, a dremmel and a drill is the way forward. I've got a SSC guide, so I'll bodge that together I reckon.

Need to run a chain guide really, dont want the risk of dropping the chain on a carbon frame.

Pauls chain keeper BB mount version, sandwiches itself between the bearing and the bottom bracket.

Had one fitted to a Stumpjumper Carbon Marathon and worked a treat.

Picked it up off ebay (they sell them new on there from the states).

Might be tricky to get a Pauls one fitted to a press fit frame... ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™„
