Has any one else tried a XT 1x11 group set with a SRAM 11 speed cassette ?
I've just built up a winter bike with 1x11 XT though slotted in a sram 11 speed cassette as it was on the wheel just to get it rolling & try it, was terrible & there was me thinking it might work, so I popped the new xt cassette on & bingo perfect, very pleased with the set up inc XT 32T crank set up.
I was hoping no more expensive sram cassettes, any one tried a xt cassette with sram drive train?

It worked fine.
Depends which speed it is, 10 will work fine but as you worked out the 11 speed stuff won't because of the different spacing that they use.
I have a XTR 11 spd rear mech working perfectly with a Sram XX1 11 spd cassette, as do quite a few others.
Currently running an XT 11-40 with my old X01 mech & shifter. Works perfectly
+1 XTR mech on XX1 cassette, zero issues.
XT M8000 on 10-42 Sram cassette. Works perfect.
xtr with x01 cassette here without a problem.
XTR Di2 with a SRAM X01 fine
+1 XTR mech/shifter on Sram 10-42 cassette. No probs
XTR with XX1 cassette here and perfect.
*goes home to open newly delivered boxes of shiney 1x11 XT bits*
Old cassette and new chain? there's your problem
