Thinking XCX-ST low mount (can't use a BB mount as BB30 and have no ISCG points; don't need roller for mincing through local muddy XC anyway); anyone any other suggestions?

That looks like it might be the thing - thanks.

Can the pauls chain keeper be used with a bash ring on the outside?

IIRC I got mine a couple of years ago from Brick Lane Bikes... haven't used it in a while but it's something I'll never sell.

MRP 1 X with shadow + mech worked for me

No, haven't tried but pretty sure it wouldn't. It is designed for 'mincing through local muddy XC' as the OP calls it - so it was ideal for me!

Just got one of the new hope ones which seems to work well with the non integrated bash

Ran just the front mech but lower to start off with on my 1x9, it was a bit noisy with chain rattle but rarely threw the chain (maybe once or twice in 3 months)

Now running a Lil Chap which was dead easy to set up without rub and is much quieter, only had 3 or 4 rides out with it so far, but all looks and feels great
