Got a 40t extender cog waiting to be installed and a choice of either 30 or 32t n/w chainring.
Bike is a 29er long travel ht which I use for short xc races.
Rider is reasonably fit but not likely to trouble any podiums.
Will 30t be too spinny?

32 definitely, even a 34. No way a 30, would be spin crazy 🙂

30 will almost certainly be fine, but I'd go 32.

Think I will start with the 32t.
It'd be handy to keep the 30t aside for my FS 29er anyway, which will be going 1x at a later date.
