Right as I have free money....

I fancy a bit of kit. Nothing hardcore as I'm not planning on solo circumnavigating the arctic circle

I'm thinking....

I know it's over budget and if that bags crap and I'm aware of alpkits hunka

I'm looking for best bang for buck. Any other

I've got cooking stuff so its purely the sleeping side

Looks good to me, make sure you use go outdoors 10% off and get their membership for £5 as it saves you a lot of money for not spending much.

Have fun!

Not seen their bivvy type kit before - looks really good value!

The OEX sleeping bag is very good for the money, I bought one for my nephew 3 years ago.

£46.75 at Blacks; https://www.blacks.co.uk/equipment/329250-oex-fathom-ev-400-sleeping-bag.html

I’ve got the sleeping mat and think it’s superb. In fact recently ordered more for the kids.

I’ve also got the OEX Fathom sleeping bag but the 200 version and also really like it. Prefer it to a Vango Ultralight Pro we have which my wife uses. Broader at the shoulders so find it more comfortable. Packs pretty small too.

The sleeping mat is amazing. I bought one last year and it's far better than any other sleeping mat I've used.

So braved the store got the mat. Very impressive for the money. I know it's not a thermal one so is 2 season.

Saw the berghaus intrepid bag and its pack size is pretty good.

I'm planning on using a liner anyway to save the bag from getting shit high

Would you think that bag is ok? Or would you go more? And would you go down..

More I look the more I'm confused

The tarp looks like a good compromise between weight and size, with lots of guying options.

Think OEX is Go Outdoors own brand, like North Ridge. Bought an OEX backpack when they first appeared, it was cheaper than main brand stuff but not as nearly as good and probably not worth the price in terms of quality. Had a pair of North Ridge boots as well when the first came out. Again cheap crap, they were returned within days as they were falling apart. That was all a good few years ago, might have improved since but I'll not be trying them again.

Yeah oex is their flagship brand I believe.

I'm torn between paying the extra for some alpkit stuff.

Like the hunka. The tarp looks perfectly fine and price vs benefit that I can see is tiny

Bought various sized tarps for myself and others from these guys. Been very happy with them.

Is winning at the moment as its sub 1kg and I'm planning on a liner in it.

Anyone got a better suggestion

Cant edit..

https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15895053/vango-ultralite-pro-200-sleeping-bag-15895053

Is another option.

Sorry for the spamming but I'm going round in circles. With sleeping bags.

Bivy wise I'm going for an alpkit hunka as it's better spec than the oex one and I'll go for the oex tarp.

Cooking wise I've a Trianga from back in the day that I'll use. They're not the most advanced cooking solution but they're easy and reliable

Cheers
