hi, just been offered some 130mm revs to fit my bike build. Unfortunately the frame is pretty much 100-120mm max I think.
Anyone any ideas if they could be spacered down or if they're no good?
What year are the revs?
And what is the frame? I run 130 rev dual air on a giant anthem x with no worries, just a little more air in the neg chamber to keep them down to 120 and get great small bump compliance.
You should be able to spacer them down. Is there a plastic slotted barrel shaped thing in the bag with the owner's manual?
Edit: "been offered" - ask seller if they come with the spacer.

You can buy the Rock Shox all travel spacers as after market items for reducing the travel. I got some from Loco Tuning and am pretty sure TFTuned sell them too.

Are QR Revs, say 2010 vintage, manufactured stiffer than say like for like QR Reba's or do they just offer more travel up to 150mm depending on spacers?
Yes I think the lowers will be different and bushies in a different position to cater for the extra travel, 150 qr's (guessing they're O.E) will be fairly flexy though, I reckon for those at 150mm you're better off with a thru axle.
Transapp, it's a voodoo wanga 2010 steel frame, but that's a pretty good idea on the neg chamber, hadn't thought of that!

The trouble with putting more air in the neg. air chamber is that it'll make the forks more 'divey'.
I've just been fiddling about with my newish Rev RLs to try to stop that divey feeling, think I had too little in the negative - will 5psi more in the positive chamber help things along, at the expense of some sensitivity?
Bit of compression will stop it diving so much, I run an extra 5 to 10 psi in the positive chamber of my Rev RCT3's to hold them up, although at 10 psi extra they do loose a bit of small bump sensitivity, so keep that for when I'm pretending to be all Gnar and stuff 😉
