Anyone else having/had a dabble? I'm using it as an excuse to have a go at this bikepacking lark that all the cool kids are doing. The plan (such as it is) involves riding from work, chippy tea, pub for a couple of shandies and finding a quiet spot for a camp up on t'tops before riding home after having 'found myself' whilst contemplating the universe and the solar system on a cloud free night...
That’s one way to get a 12 hour ride in, include your overnight stop. I was just going to include a few long cafe stops 🤣
Makes sense to me!
"12 Hours of May is a cycling challenge that celebrates longer days, the hope of springtime and exploration closer to home. It's open to anyone willing to spend 12 hours outdoors in one go on a bike.
This challenge is to spend 12 hours outside, elapsed time, not riding time, in one go. So you could stay in the saddle for 12 hours straight, or for a few hours before finding a place to sleep and pedalling home in the morning."
Well, I did it! And very nice it was too.
