Chatting with LBS yesterday and seriously considering upgrading groupset on my 2021 Carbon Synapse. They can do me a decent deal, and I am fortunately in a position to afford it. Bike only has 400 miles use since new so I can likely recoup a bit on the mechanical set that comes off.
Anyway, how much better/different will it feel ?
I do have di2 Ultegra/xt on my Creo, which has been faultless since I got it a few years ago.
I did it 10-12 months ago on my gravel bike and haven't looked back. Not sure what the deal was with the front derailleur cable routing but it seemed to need changing every 3-4 months to be fully functional/easy to shift. I didn't change out the crankset (mainly as I am running 46-34 and 12 speed don't offer that yet or didn't at that time) and it's been flawless shifting, so that might be a saving if that is a concern.
I'm very happy with it all, managed 1200 miles between charges on the main battery too if you are wondering about that, quickly charges back to 100% (couple of hours max).
Have to say I was a bit of a luddite and didn't think I needed electronic shifting but as I'm doing longer & longer rides/races (did Unbound with the new setup last year) I'm really seeing the shifting/braking fatigue lower too.
Many thanks, sounds ideal, button being pressed later on.
done, bike in shop, will get it back end of the week ๐
went for the full groupset as a better deal as a package, only bits that remain are rotors
