105 crank arm on ultegra cranks

Hi all - my ultegra crank arm 4iii power meter has gone nuts. Way out of warranty so probably a write off.

I do have a 105 crank arm power meter (same type) which is on my commuter bike. Anyone know if I can just stick the 105 crank arm on the ultegra cranks for now? Both 11 speed mechanical versions.

I was going to get a new ultegra crank arm powermeter but found out I have a 700 quid dental bill in my immediate future earlier today ๐Ÿ™

Sure. The fitting is identical.

Worth checking they're the same length but otherwise it works.

Try new battery as well as reversing polarity of battery in duff 4iiii for 10secs+.

Tried a new battery - haven't tried reversing the polarity. It currently refuses to calibrate and gives readings of 1000w+ all the time. Was quite random - working fine on a ride, then suddenly I was apparently putting out 1800w lol

Yeah saved a 4iiii before with the reverse battery trick. Then factory reset and check firmware.

Did the reversing battery thing, then reset and checked firmware. Still won't calibrate (and 'provision' in the app whatever that means). Fully shagged i think.

Some good deals on the Precision v2 out there and not bad deals on the v3 (refined shape that fits more frames is main benefit).

Eg. https://www.probikekit.co.uk/components/power-meters.list?pageNumber=1&facetFilters=en_brand_content:4iiii&sortOrder=salesRank

I have a 105 4iiii on my ultegra chainset

Works fine. Wasn't paying 100 extra quid for an "ultegra" etching.
