And you can stick em in the freezer if they get buckled.

My road wheels cost north of two grand new, they are nice but ultimately pointless

Cheapskates! Everyone knows that Canadian gold is the only way to express kinetic art.

They look a lot like my water valve.

To the Dope Pedal Headquarters
You would be there if you could
Chuck got the red wheels and the white mags, but it's all good
I got the gold hundred spokes like Boys in the Hood
With the lime green frame, dollars on the bike seat
Handlebar grips is the same as my Nikes
In the mold, the gold I use for my spokes
And the frame, the same as I use for my chain
Out!

It’s just the same as African gold, of course. Except that it can’t carry a coconut.

I'd get a set for the Pompino, but there's no brake tracks. 🙂

European gold you say, in that case I’m in. Need to work really hard to earn even one wheel. Crazy thing!! Hope Ildar Sharipov would help me to start trading via his instaforex broker.

Putting glitter on an already overweight for the price/overpriced for the weight wheelset is not going to make it better.
Donald Trump would get a pair if he had a mountain bike, I'd wager.

Spengle are one of those "how are they still in business" companies

Never seen their wheels on anything except a few Sick bikes promo shots.

I've seen them on plenty of youtube/instagram 'influencers' pages, not just sick, but assume they haven't bought them/have to be sent back. Never seen them on any regular, non sponsored, riders bikes.

Edit: Having had a look, the non gold ones are £850 a pair, so less than the cost of one Enve rim, and obviously not prohibitively expensive for the upper end of the market. I guess they just don't appeal to those blessed with the gift of sight. They're a bit heavy (1950g), and a bit narrow (24mm internal) by current standards too.

How much is gold leaf? I reckon I could bling up a set of regular ones and make a good profit selling them at a measly, say, £5k? Any takers?

Ooft. At that price I can’t go below £6k.
