Hello,
I'm rebuilding my old Cannondale SL3 up for some racing. I'm on a bit of a budget (2nd little 'un on the way...) so using old parts where I can.
I want to fit my 1 1/8 Rebas to the frame, which has a 1.5 tapered headtube (spec for bike here: http://www.cannondale.com/nam_en/2012-trail-sl-782).
Googling makes it look possible, but could anyone be kind enough to link me up to what I need to buy please?
Thank you.
Link isn't working for me, but should be possible without too much trouble.
We usually use Hope pick & mix headsets, buy the top & bottom cups to suit & job done.
There are various options, but I think Hope do a headset with guide as to exactly what bits you need on their website.

As above FSA do a number of reducer headsets depending on stack height required and how much you want to spend - Hope also have the necessary bits.
FSA also do some reducer shims if you already have a 1 1/8" headset and just want to step the headtube down to fit that.
I would buy a headset to fit a tapered fork then by a reducer crown. The headset will be simple enough to buy and then something like this:

Which means you have everything you need to upgrade at a later date but it'll work well for a real cheap setup.
Likewise Cane Creek or FSA are probably cheaper than Hope but not as spangly.
