hmm not sure about splitting it myself, best to leave it the way it was designed

All Hope headsets have a split crown race, and are cheaper if you buy top and bottom cups seperately as pick n mix, a touch over £50 from Merlin at the mo.
No head doctor though, no loss as far as I'm concerned

Even if you don't split them initially, once you've banged them on and off a few steerers, they go baggy anyway and will need splitting.

Hacksaw and a little tidy up with some wet and dry paper is fine too.
